I have a new addiction.
It’s called Pinterest. {Check out my boards and follow me here}
What’s Pinterest, you quip?
Only the most amazing thing since chai cream frappuccinos, The Miracle Face, or Saved By the Bell!
It’s basically a kind of online bulletin board, where you can pin images from all over the interwebz and categorize them by boards you name yourself, like Partay, If I had 25 Hours in a Day, or Weaknesses.
Sound like a giant waste of time?
Well, it’s only a waste of time if you consider learning new things, being visually inspired, and uncontrollable laughter in the category of “time wasters”. {I don’t, but if you do, you should really, really lighten up!}

I came across this image on Pinterest over the weekend. I would love to ascribe credit to the mother of the creative genius in the picture, or even the disapproving boy in the background. But, I could not track down the original. I’m sure this image is priceless, though.
Oh, sorry, you were looking for a pop parable.
Does that mean you don’t see it?
C’mon people, have I taught you nothing!?
12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness,
but rather in speech, conduct, love,
faith and purity,
show yourself an example of those who believe.
I Timothy 4:12
Or, as the image says:
Haters gonna hate. But, don’t let them.
Show them the miraculous life changing love of Jesus Christ
by doing things others don’t do:
speaking in love, living peacefully with others,
and having the faith of a child.
::
Are you on Pinterest? {Then you should totally follow me!}
Do you have an image to express I Timothy 4:12 or any other Scripture?

I don’t pinterest.
I do like your parable.
Thank you, Jason!
Awesome as always Keri!
Thank, friend. I have to say, I was quite the unicorn lover as a little girl.
LMBO! Great Pic!
Also…analogizing the photo…
God gave me this unicorn bike…
why you still walking? lol..
God is good and sometimes gives us things we don’t quite understand…but it gets us there!
Is analogizing a word!? I don’t know, but I like it!
Loooove your pop parables, Arny, especially the last one. So often we question God for what comes our way, but He promises to use it all for our good. And, really, what is better than a unicorn bike!?
First, Standard Theme!
I’m sorry but that unicorn bicycle is NOT made for boys. I’ma go ahead and hate on that one!
Never been on pinterest but I’ve heard tons about it. I’ll have to check it out at some point.
I’m actually kind of embarassed at my poor representation of Standard Theme. I’ve had major computer issues in the past few weeks. God a yucky virus right after I installed and haven’t been able to tweak it at all yet. And, I am having an amazing new header designed. I’m so in love with it that I want it to be a t-shirt, but that seems a little weird.
There’s probably a story behind this pic-like that boy ripped off the unicorn bike from a 7 year old that is crying to the left of what’s actually seen in the photo. LOL
Lol! The parable is great, been trying to get an invite Pininterest forever. No such luck, but I love that you are meeting up with God while looking at pic’s of boys on unicorn bikes!
Stephanie…today is the day your life is changed forever. I just sent a Pinterest invite to your hotmail address with which you left this comment. Party on, girl!
You are a total Rockstar! Keep up the great work and I see you over at Pinterest!
I’ve been to the main Pinterest page, but nothing more than a glance. May have to check it out.
Also, looks like that ‘disapproving’ boy has a regular horse bike. He’s just sad his isn’t a unicorn bike.
OMG, you’re right! The ‘disapproving boy’totally has a regular horse bike! I didn’t even see that. See, he’s riding on a faith of a useless god who is powerless to change people. He thought he had a good one, but then he saw the unicorn bike and was like, “What? WHAT?! Why did no one tell me!!!!”
Haha. That picture is great. I’ve looked at Pinterest a little bit, but not enough to actually understand the purpose of it. It looks cool, but I don’t know if I can handle one more thing that takes up my time right now. Of course (if I understand it right – and maybe I don’t…) it might help me organize some of the random things that I’m constantly saving in my favorites to look at later. I have so many things that I want to buy or projects that I want to make and they all go in my favorites.
YES! It is perfect to have as one place where you can keep all of your favorites, especially if they are images. It can be really nice to have them all in one place to look at all at one time. Try it!
That verse is the “backbone” for our youth group at church. I told them that even if society sees young people as fools and immature, they can be an example to everyone, by their works, words, faith, purity, etc. Let the haters hate, but we will do what we gotta do.
Oh, and I’ve heard of Pinterest, but I don’t care for it.
I have to say, the youth can be an example to those of the faith, too! Mike and I attend the “youth” service at our church because we’re cool like that. JK! It’s because they play more rockin, louder music, and we’re cool like THAT. Anyway, these kids worship with such abandon and when we pray for our kids {a thing we do at our church}, they are so fervent and genuine in their faith, just really passionate, ya know? It’s easy for me to let my faith get dry, and they are a good reminder to me.
Don’t be a Pinterest hater, Moe! You could create an I heart Apple board. No? No? Okay. But, you can still be my friend.
I love that little boy, look at the huge smiling giggle he has on his face, he is a true gem!!
How can you not smile, giggle and grin when riding a unicorn bike!?!? {pop parable: how can you not be joyful when you have Christ in your life!?}
love your blog Keri
My friends were talking about this very think a couple of weeks ago and they all said they WOULD INVITE ME!! No one DID! I’d love to check it out – so if you will invite me – then I will!
Done and done! Happy Pinning!
Love this parable Keri!
Thanks for sharing such an awesome verse in an awesome blog post.
Thanks so much for reading, Phil and for sharing via Twitter. I really appreciate that.
